Sum and Difference Identities Part One

FORMULAS


Reminder: In the sine formulas, + or − on the left is also + or − on the right. But in the cosine formulas, + on the left becomes − on the right.


With these basic formulas, it is much easier to figure out the other formulas that involves csc, sec and cot.

Example:

1.) You have to figure out two radians that has a reference angle that equals to the specific radian in the question.
2.) Look in your formula sheet for the correct formula.
3.) Find the exact values for each.
4.) Add them up and you will get the right answer.
